Stylish and Traditional Interior

The interior combines traditional elements with modern comfort, featuring local stone, chestnut wood beams, doors, window frames, and shutters, creating a cozy yet elegant ambiance. The upper part of the property houses the owners' residence, which is rented out during the summer. With a separate entrance, garden, and pool, guests' privacy is fully maintained.

Enchanting Surroundings of the Monti Sabini

Casale Upupa is located in the heart of the rolling Sabina region, a timeless part of Italy yet to be fully discovered. The landscape is dotted with numerous castles crowning the hills. The rich cultural and historical heritage is reflected in the architecture, decorations, and frescoes. These castles are surrounded by medieval villages known for their architectural significance, such as Tarano, Montasola, Casperia, Roccantica, and Collevecchio. Known as "the second home of Saint Francis," the area is dotted with many Franciscan shrines, abbeys, and monasteries, including the notable Abbazia di Farfa and Santuario di Vescovio.

Historical Background

Sabina is located in Latium, northeast of Rome. It is named after the Sabines, an ancient tribe that lived in the area before the founding of Rome. Many Sabine deities and cults were incorporated into Roman culture, and several parts of the city, such as the Quirinal Hill, were once Sabine territories.
