After years of searching, we discovered Villa Verdini in Piedmont, aiming to create something unique for ourselves and our guests. The villa offers breathtaking views of the Alps and surrounding vineyards and is ideally located to explore the region's treasures, such as Barbera, Barolo & Barbaresco, Turin, Asti, and Alba. At the same time, it is secluded and private, away from tourist areas.

Historical Charm and Modern Amenities

Villa Verdini is a sleeping beauty on a hill with a 360-degree panoramic view, accessible via a small road and surrounded by valleys. Originally a prestigious winery from the 1870s, the mansion was built in the early 20th century in the Liberty style (the Italian version of Art Nouveau), complete with ornamental facades, wrought iron, Ligurian shutters, and palm trees.

Authentic Restoration and Sustainability

Inside, original elements such as hand-painted ceilings, handcrafted cement tiles, Carrara marble stairs, and carved doors were meticulously restored by local artisans. The original doors, shutters, and windows were removed, fully renovated, and, where necessary, replaced with handcrafted materials.

Modern Bathrooms and Restored Furniture

As the house originally had no bathrooms, five modern bathrooms were added at the back of the house, where the staff quarters once were. These bathrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and harmoniously blend with the house's historical character through materials like brass faucets and reclaimed oak beams.

Integration of Original and Modern Elements

The original chestnut wood furniture in the Liberty style was carefully restored and is now back in the villa. The roof structure was replaced, and the old wood was used to craft dining tables, beds, shelves, and bathroom furniture by a local craftsman. High-quality Scandinavian furniture and lighting complement the stylish interiors.

Sustainability and Environmental Protection

Villa Verdini produces its own electricity from solar panels on the roof and heats the entire building with a heat pump, also powered by solar energy, minimizing the carbon footprint. Two old wells were reactivated to supply water to the gardens.
